Judging Sheet and Criteria based on NRC 2011 Open Category for use in the SDJ Robotics Internal Competition 2011

The following table shows the judging sheet and criteria based on the NRC 2011 format under the theme of “Robots to Improve Life” for SDJ Robotics Internal Competition 2011 usage. Please do not assume that this sheet is used exactly by Sasbadi, we are in not anyway affiliated to Sasbadi or the National Robotics Competition 2011 (NRC 2011). Or even WRO 2011 for that matter.

1. Justification (10 points)

-See if justification is given for the theme “Improving Life”

         
2. Report (40 points)          
a) Maximum 1500 typed words in good English (10 points)

- Judge by use of English (give full marks if quality of English is good)

         
b) Design process (10 points)

- Show proper design outline and the process

         
c) Visual description (15 points)

- Does the photographs, pictures and diagrams show clear concepts and understanding? Does it summarise what the robot does?

         
d) Report quality and presentation (5 points)

- Overall feel of the report

         
3. Presentation (50 points)          
a) Oral presentation (20 points)

- How well was the presentation? Did the demonstration of the robot go well?

         
b) Team spirit and energy (10 points)

- Did they work as a team? Is anybody playing around during the presentation?

         
c) Overall appearance of booth and team (10 points)

- Is the booth nice? Is it relevant to the theme? Are the students dressed accordingly? (Give emphasise on the booth than dressing)

         
d) Poster (10 points)

- Did they use their poster properly? Is the poster of high quality?

         
4. Robot’s Technical Design (50 points)

- Judge on the quality of the engineering and stability of the robot.

         
5. Robots’s Creative Design (50 points)

- Creative appearance, is the robot nice?

- Interactive behavior? Does the robot interact with human?

It’s quite thrilling to score full marks. But we’ll try our best.

By the way…’ north, south, east, west, SDJ is the best’!!!!!
